Cookery Classes
Our 30-40 minute classes are designed to give your child the very best. This means our aim is for your little one to enjoy their weekly lesson and look forward to coming - along with giving the benefits of cookery and food experiences.
The Change 4 Life Campaign is keen to encourage all children to eat healthily.Fruit and veg are packed with essential vitamins, minerals and fibre which may help reduce the risk of nasty diseases like cancer and heart disease. So it’s important for kids to eat a variety of at least five portions of fruit and veg every day. We will introduce different fruit and vegetables and encourage children to try them whilst looking at their shapes, textures, origins and different recipes making them fun as well as healthy.
We all seem to be busy these days and in our hectic modern lives we often don’t make time for healthy meals. Rushing, 'making do' and eating on the go all lead to unhealthier eating habits like snacking, eating fast food, TV meals, fussy eating and so on. Skipping meals is also not good for kids as they may miss out on essential nutrients. Childrens diets often effect their behaviour and also sleep patterns. We will show you and your children quick, healthy, tasty recipes to keep them healthier and happier!
The classes are 40 minutes as children do not have long concentration spans and after this time would not get anything from the lesson. We allow this length of time so we can prepare and make our weekly dish, study our chosen product of the week and also participate in a food related activity (such as place mats, macoroni pictures or making music!) - we also encourage the children to tidy up at the end of the class.
The lessons are only £6.50 each payable in advance for the term. This price includes the ingredients for the weekly dish.
We do sell cooking utensils and aprons etc but it is not compulsory so please do not feel pressured.

Tasty Tots – 18 months to 2 and a half years
Tasty Tots classes run for 30 minutes using props and activities to build fun themed classes.

The preperation and making of our dishes use skills such as mixing, beating, measuring, weighing and pouring. All these are very advanced and may take time for your toddler to learn. However as they continue to practise - their bodies and brains will become trained for such difficult exercises.
The classes are excellent for parents to meet new friends and enjoy themselves. We welcome Mummys, Daddys, Grandparents, childminders or anybody else who wants to share this enjoyable experience with a little one.

These 40 minute classes are designed to be creative and fun whilst learning basic cookery skills and food related experiences. Encouraging independence but not forcing it – it is entirely up to each parent whether they want to join in or sit at the side and watch but we do ask that you do stay in the class. Some like the prospect of independence whereas others want it to be ‘your’ time participating together. Using exciting foods and props mean the children are interested and keen to participate unleashing their imaginations in the process and developing their social skills.
The classes are designed to help build and develop children’s minds and bodies focusing on coordination, creativity, self expression, listening skills, memory, gross motor skills and confidence whilst educating them about eating healthily and exploring new food ideas.
